Lepakshi Authentic South Indian Restaurant

Unassuming place with consistently great quality of food and fast (and polite!) service (thanks Ananthu for always making us feel at home!). Split two coffees into three? Check. Order prior to arriving and be greeted with delicious food? Check. Order so much dessert that they have to open another box just for you, even though you are the last ones there? Check. Some other great features of this little gem: (1) One of the few places (if not the only place) that is open in Guelph after 6pm on a Sunday (2) They make their own ghee (and it’s heavenly!), which you can smell as soon as you order something with ghee (the ghee dosa, ghee idli are stunning in all the best ways!) (3) The few desserts they carry are made in-house and you must try them, specifically their warm and soft gulabjamun (4) The only place in town that serves authentic masala vada, fresh made sambhar, and fluffy idlis (5) Last, but definitely not the least - nothing beats their pricing! Their extremely accommodating service (in line with South India’s heartwarming hospitality) and modest decor has made it a comfortable, favourite family joint as evident by those who patronise it. If you’ve been thinking about visiting it, don’t hesitate to give it a try. Happiness guaranteed!

Tried their South indian thali, gongura rice, and chai. The food was good in taste; tge thali is enough for a person but the quantity could be more for the gongura rice. However, their chai was really good, I felt like having a great tea outside after a long time!

Excellent foood!! Authentic Andhra thali. We had their krishnasthami special . 15-16 items in the thali. 3 desserts, 3 curries , dal , sambar , rasam , lemon rice , coconut rice curd and rice , aavada (dahi vada) and dosavakay . Excellent service !! Will come back for their dosas and more . This place is so different from others . Pls support the business so that they can keep up the quality and great service . Will definitely let my friend and family know. They touched my heart with their food!

We didn’t even know this pure (no eggs) all vegetarian South Indian restaurant in Guelph. The food style is mostly AP/Telangana style food which is quite good as well. Inside is nice and clean and service is good. Staff is well aware of what items are by default vegan, some that can be made and some that have dairy ghee already. We ordered Idli Manchurian - which is a South Indian Chinese fusion dish. Fried Idlis in Manchurian sauce (dry). Good spice and flavour to the sauce and Idlis were freshly fried and still hot and crispy. The South Indian Thaali can be customized a bit, more/less rice or Chappati more/less. The curries are chefs choice and many of curries are made with dairy ghee. So one vegan options but not all. All good family enjoyed them. The Tiffin Thalli is also good, comes with Idli, Medu Wada, mini dosa, chutney, sambhar. Mostly vegan. Good options for vegan. There are more vegan options that we would like to try. Will try them soon.
